Quest for The Cup Boosts Raleigh

If you haven’t heard, Raleigh’s professional hockey team, the Carolina Hurricanes, is in the Stanley Cup Final. Not only is the city’s profile growing as an emerging hockey town, but the local economy is booming as well.

“It really is some publicity you just can’t buy,” Touchstone continued. “Every time they’re playing, they’re talking about the Hurricanes being in Raleigh. It just really puts us on the map.”

Kyle shares more about how the local economy is in its own championship fight. In fact, the city has doubled in population since the Hurricanes last reached the Stanley Cup in 2006, and a lot has changed since then.
